Automated transit systems in all terminals were damaged, causing long queues and delays for passengers.

The Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) has advised travelers to delay non-essential travel and expect delays as they divert immigrants to side lanes to allow passage.

According to the ICA, the crash was caused by an “unpredictable system overload” from a pre-planned upgrade. This affected all departure and arrival terminals.
