The opening of the first store of the Belarusian company Swed House took place in Moscow. The network sells IKEA products, as well as its own analogues of the products of the Swedish brand.

Belarusian analogue of IKEA opened in Russia

This is reported by TASS with reference to its own correspondent. The area of ​​​​the outlet in the Schelkovsky shopping center is 330 km2. m. In the future, the company plans to open at least five stores in the capital.

The company’s Swed House says it sells more than 800 kitchen items, including tableware, interiors, furniture accessories, textiles and more. Swed House products are manufactured in factories in Russia, China, Belarus and Kazakhstan.

In an interview with Podyem, the head of the company, Murat Shagylydzhov, said that there are “not many” IKEA brand products. The sources of supply are not disclosed, but the businessman notes: “Neither from Europe nor from China.” The businessman does not consider the sale of the Swedish company’s products illegal.

“Where did you see that there is a ban on the sale of IKEA products? Any person, any businessman, any store can trade these products,” Shagylydzhov said.

In addition, the general director of the Belarusian company told the Argumenty i Fakty newspaper that the first Swed House store will open in St. Petersburg this fall. Its surface will be about 800 square meters. meter.

IKEA suspended the work of its stores in Russia and Belarus in March last year. In March 2023, the Swedish manufacturer sold its last plant in Russia to St. Petersburg Slotex. In the same month, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce authorized the import of the brand’s products through parallel imports.
