Former Apple designer Imran Chaudhry demonstrated a wearable AI platform device that projects an image onto a hand at a non-profit TED Foundation event.
Chaudhry has his own startup Humane, which develops and manufactures devices. The gadget hides under clothes, only the lenses through which the image is shown are open, as well as the camera and speakers.
The designer claims that his development will replace smartphones in the future. These features include translation of speech in a time state and the ability to answer incoming calls. It is noted that these are far from all the features of the device, but while the company is not ready for their manifestations, they appear more clearly in the coming months.
Representatives on the list already include Microsoft, Volvo Cars Tech Fund, Qualcomm Ventures and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman. The total investment amounted to about $230 million. [GizmoChina]
