The New York City Police Department (NYPD) has installed AirTag in cars to reduce car theft in the city.
In today’s tweet, the NYPD noted that Apple’s tags require faster retrieval of stolen vehicles. They also attached a video of the best place to place the AirTag so it can’t be found.
Another video was published and found, where the theft of a car and its search through the application lives Locator. Tracking information owned by the police. The officers find the car thanks to AirTag, return the car and arrest the thief.
New York City Mayor Eric Adams said the city is giving away 500 free AirTags to anyone with a car. The labels will be average at 548%.
