The main reason for this is the female sex hormone estrogen, which makes it harder for women to lose weight by reducing the amount of calories they consume.

In a four-week experiment involving 42 people, men lost an average of 16% of their weight, while women lost only 8% of their excess weight.

At the same time, men were limited to 2000 kcal (instead of 2500) per day, and women – 1500 kcal (instead of 2000).

In addition to losing more weight, the men have also successfully lowered their blood sugar through dieting. However, it is worth noting that such results are only noticeable among young people. Men and women over 45 lost weight at the same rate.
