Robin Gateens, Director of the ISS Division at NASA Headquarters, said the extension of time on the ISS will allow scientists to continue making new discoveries and benefit from more than two decades of experiments and technology demonstrations.
ISS is a partnership of 15 countries united around a common goal of science and research and development. Russia’s decision to extend its involvement until 2028 guarantees safe operation of the station until it is finally released by all partners in 2030 before exiting orbit.
