Samsung and search engine operator Naver have teamed up to develop a productive artificial intelligence (AI) platform to compete with ChatGPT. Two companies from South Korea plan to introduce the product in October of this year.according to sources.
Samsung will make its branded semiconductor data available for Naver to use to build the artificial intelligence. Next, the tech giant will develop the tool, initially available in Korean, to adapt the service to the country.
“AI data is largely processed in English in developed countries. Non-English speaking countries like Korea are marginalized in their use of productive AI tools,” said Kyung Kye-hyun, President and President of Samsung’s Semiconductor Business Unit.
The artificial intelligence will be used by Samsung’s device division. The company recently banned the use of ChatGPT on company computers due to privacy concerns. This is because an engineer accidentally leaked an internal source code while uploading it to the chatbot to check for errors.
In addition to manufacturing AI, the companies announced a partnership to launch AI chips in December last year.. The main competitor in this regard is Nvidia. When they’re ready, they’ll swap competing tracks on Naver platforms.
“Through our collaboration with Naver, we will develop cutting-edge semiconductor solutions to solve the memory bottleneck in large-scale AI systems,” said Jinman Han, Vice President of Global Memory Sales and Marketing at Samsung Electronics.
