The failures in determining geolocation in Moscow, which have occurred during the third week, have caused difficulties in the operation of the Yandex.Taxi, Yandex.Drive carsharing and Yandex.Scooters kicksharing services. Yandex.Taxi will also offer passengers to verify addresses before starting a trip.
Due to interruptions in the operation of navigation in Moscow, some passengers and taxi drivers incorrectly display the pick-up point indicated by the passenger or determined automatically by the system.
“Therefore, we now also suggest checking the address where the trip begins. Difficulties also arise when determining the location of Drive cars and Scooters in the city center, and the start and end of the lease may be temporarily unavailable, ”the company’s press service explained to RIA Novosti.
They added that all calls to the support service are considered and processed. The ongoing flaw affects all browsing-related Yandex services. It is clarified that the interruptions in the work are not related to the infrastructure of the Internet services itself. Mobile apps receive coordinates that already contain an error.
In early May, the Moscow government banned the launch of drones in the capital indefinitely.
