Rooms in family hotels on the Black Sea coast are almost 100% booked for the first half of summer, Ilya Umansky, president of the Russian Union of the Travel Industry (PCT), told RBC. The situation is different in the Crimea – only 20-30% of hotels and inns are booked there.

Russians have booked up to 80% of hotels in Sochi for the summer

According to Umansky, the scale of advance bookings for next summer is 10-15% higher than last year. Vacation planners are more likely to choose mid-range hotels, with five-star hotel bookings down 5%.

According to the tour operator Pegas Touristik, everything is fully booked in some hotels until July. There is a lack of accommodation facilities in the resorts of the Black and Caspian Seas, in Sochi and Dagestan.

In Sochi, up to 80% of properties have already been booked for next summer, says Dmitry Bogdanov, chairman of the expert council of the Association of Hoteliers AMOS. The highest occupancy is observed in hotels in the center of Sochi, in Adler and in the urban-type settlement of Sirius.

At the same time, there are still places in the Sochi suburbs, in Lazarevsky. In the direction of Anapa and Gelendzhik, there is still the possibility of reserving a room, says Bogdanov.

A different situation has developed in Crimea: only 20-30% of accommodation facilities have been booked there, notes Forbes, citing the Minister of Resorts and Tourism of the Republic Vadim Volchenko. According to him, travelers have already booked up to 40% of hotels at this time last year.

“We do not expect a simple season, although it is still early to draw conclusions and forecasts,” said the minister.

As Volchenko clarified, due to low demand, local accommodations reduce prices by 30% and carry out all kinds of promotions. Guests from the region will only benefit from the difficulties facing the sphere, as “certainly more loyal” offers await them on the peninsula than a year earlier and compared to other spas, the minister believes.
