How to disable widgets in Windows 11

For example, with Windows 11 widgets, you can be informed about important news, weather or various sports results. It’s very useful of course, but what if you don’t expect it? Then you better turn them off. You can do this, for example, via the Windows 11 Taskbar. This is by far the easiest way to complete this task.

The Taskbar at the bottom of the screen can be designed in different ways in Windows 11. It’s good to know this, especially if you don’t like the new layout. You can decide to move the shortcuts to the left, hide the default options, and change the color, just to name a few. But you can also remove widgets via the Taskbar. You can do this in just a few steps.

• Right-click on an empty spot on the Windows 11 Taskbar. It doesn’t matter where you click as long as you don’t click on a function or application.
• Select the settings of the Taskbar; This is the bottom option.
• (An alternative method is to open the settings app, Personal settings to go and leave the option taskbar to choose).
• Find the part now Taskbar Items and click on it to see the options.

This is where you can disable widgets. There are now several options on the screen, for example chat and To search† You will see a slider on the right. When the button is on the right and has an accent color, the option is enabled. If it’s on the left and the button has the same color as the background, it’s off.

Now the goal is to disable the widget button. The button should now be on the left. With one click, you disable the widgets and are no longer bothered by them. And that’s it. You don’t have to deal with all sorts of complicated settings or commands, but you can tweak it this way.
