Uninstalling programs on a Windows computer usually works fine, but sometimes the system refuses to work. Then you suddenly find yourself with a piece of software that takes up unnecessary space. What exactly can you do in such situations?
You uninstall programs for various reasons. But most of the time, you either stop using the program or you discover rogue behavior tied to certain software. Either way, you better say goodbye to the program. However, when you click the delete button in the Settings or Start menu, you will not get the desired result.
One of the first things you can do is check that the program is still not running secretly in the background; may cause an obstacle. Therefore, we must first disable the program completely. To do this, open the Task Manager. To do this, right-click the Start icon and task management. Find the program under the tab processesSelect with the right mouse button and To finish. Then you can try to delete the program again.
In some cases, a program has a default file that removes the software. If uninstalling via Windows does not work, check if there is an icon in the installation folder where you can clean everything.
Unable to uninstall windows programs
If that doesn’t work, we may need to re-enable the Windows Installer component. This part is often relevant when problems arise with installing or uninstalling programs. To do this, follow the steps below.
- Press Windows Key + R to carry out open
- medicine services.msc and bass To enter
- In the new window look for: Windows Installer
- press with you right mouse button on
- Now choose option Properties
- check below service status whether the component is on
- If not, press Start
- If so, press Stop and then Start
- click To apply and on OK and try deleting the content again
If that still doesn’t work, we can go a step further by re-registering the Windows Installer. For this we need to open Command Prompt. Open Start and type Command Prompt; select the best result with the right mouse button and select the option Run as administrator.
Now type the following: msiexec / unreg and bass To enter
After this command is executed, type the following sentence: msiexec / log server and bass To enter
