The iMac was one of the first Apple computers to make the long-awaited switch to Apple Silicon, and it’s in need of an update. There have been rumors for a long time about a possible upgrade and that there could be surprises regarding its screen size. In particular, what do we see in the future 32″ iMac.

This is pointed out by Mark Gurman from Bloomberg. A well-known journalist picked up the big-screen iMac idea in his latest Newsletter Sunday. A few weeks ago, he stated that Apple was working on a model “over 30 inches” but did not reveal details about it.

Now the expert points out that Apple is experimenting with larger versions of the iMac, among which is the aforementioned 32-inch. However, information is still limited and published little by little. To the extent that it is not known if those from Cupertino want this size to be as affordable as possible, or if they would bet on something even more ostentatious.

Another important moment in this story has to do with the expected date of the presentation. While we’ll have a new iMac this year, it won’t be a 32-inch one. Any big screen model still more than a year from nowsays a journalist from Bloomberg.

To be more specific, Gurman says that being an early development, iMacs larger than 30 inches will appear. only at the end of 2024or even early 2025. If this is confirmed, the public will have to continue to be patient.

32-inch iMac will be in the plans of Apple, but not immediately

The case of the iMac is rather strange in the Apple universe. This team was one of the first to move to Apple Silicon with the 24-inch variant and the M1 chip, which was introduced in 2021. However, since its launch Apple seems to have forgotten about its existence.

The iMac is expected to finally get the long-awaited upgrade this year, moving to the M3 chip but retaining the 24-inch screen. It makes you wonder why the 32-inch iMac won’t arrive until late 2024. Of course, we still don’t have an answer.

Will Apple prepare something special for the big screen version? Will the over 30-inch model mean the return of the iMac Pro? Rumors about the latter have been circulating since at least 2021. However, so far they have not materialized.

With the recent release of the Mac Pro M2, the transition to Apple Silicon has been completed. And while it took a little longer than they originally planned, Tim Cook’s people have made a huge leap forward by designing and developing their own chips. However, it is impossible not to feel that some of the teams have been neglected. It happened at the time with the Mac Mini and is happening now with the iMac.

Let’s see what happens. If you’re happy to see an iMac larger than 30 inches, there are two possible readings.. Positive: Apple seems to be taking the project seriously. Cons: so that the company is not ashamed to continue to test your patience.
