Samsung announced the availability of this feature today Galaxy AI on other Galaxy devices thanks to a new update One 6.1 UI aims to help democratize mobile AI.
The update will be available in the series Galaxy S23, S23 FE, Z-fold5, Z-fold5and also in Tab S9 Ultra, Tab S9+ and Tab S9 starting at the end of March. Like the recently launched Galaxy S24 series, this update raises the bar for mobile AI experiences for users through a hybrid approach that combines on-device and cloud-based AI.
“Our goal with Galaxy AI is to not only usher in a new era of mobile AI, but also to empower users by making AI more accessible to everyone,” said T.M. Roh, President and Head of Mobile eXperience at Samsung Electronics. “This is just the beginning for Galaxy AI as we plan to bring this experience to more than 100 million Galaxy users in 2024 and continue to develop innovative ways to harness the limitless power of mobile AI.”
More Galaxy users can now take advantage of Galaxy AI features that improve connectivity on AI-enabled models. Features include the ability to adjust the tone of messages and translate them into 13 different languages using Chat Assist, accessible through the Samsung keyboard.
Galaxy users can experience real-time collaboration with Live Translate, which provides voice and text translation for phone calls. With Interpreter, users can also strike up spontaneous conversations with locals while traveling, as the split-screen feature generates text translations for live conversations.
The broader integration of Galaxy AI into the Galaxy ecosystem also ensures everyday tasks can be performed seamlessly on AI-enabled models, delivering new levels of efficiency.
The functionality is enhanced by Circle Search with Google, which generates intuitive search results with a quick circle gesture. Simplifying organizational features like Note Assist let users format, create summaries, and translate notes, while Browsing Assist lets people stay up to date faster by creating comprehensive summaries of news articles.
Transcript Assist can also easily transcribe meeting notes and create summaries and translations.
