Xiaomi Watch 2 was launched this Monday (26) during MWC 2024. The smartwatch is designed to be a high-quality device running Google’s Wear OS operating system, but is more affordable than Google’s Pixel Watch and Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 6.

Like its competitors, Xiaomi Watch 2 has a round and simple appearance. Aluminum housing includes The 1.43-inch screen with AMOLED technology weighs approximately 37 grams.

Inside the Xiaomi mobile phone, there is the Qualcomm Snapdragon W5+ Gen 1 chipset, which is the same as the Xiaomi Watch 2 Pro. It also has 2 GB RAM and 32 GB eMMC storage.

Finally, the battery of the Xiaomi Watch 2 has a capacity of 495 mAh and, together with the chipset, promises to provide up to 65 hours of autonomy in “daily use”. The device can also dive to depths of up to 50 meters (5 ATM).

Use operating system support

One of the highlights of the watch is that it supports Wear OS, Google’s new system for wearable devices. The operating system provides compatibility with more than 200 third-party applications distributed through Google Play.

Xiaomi Watch 2 records location data with a dual-band L1+L5 GNSS system.

Xiaomi offers 33 watch faces for native customization, tracking of 160 sports modes, and syncing with the company’s ecosystem, including pairing with Xiaomi Mi Fitness, Strava, and Suunto.

The watch’s sensors have also been improved: The heart rate monitoring module now has 12 channels. The accessory also offers mechanisms for monitoring sleep and blood oxygen levels.

Price and availability

Moreover, the presence of Wear OS positions Xiaomi Watch 2 as an alternative to the Galaxy Watch and Pixel Watch, but at a more affordable price. The watch retails for €199 (approximately R$1,080).
