Xiaomi has officially confirmed that Xiaomi 12S Ultra, which is destined to take the leading position in the catalog of mobile phones, will be officially launched on July 4 in China. It will also do so alongside other phones from the Xiaomi 12S family, which will replace the Xiaomi 12 launched in the West earlier in the year.

The company also said that Xiaomi 12S Ultra debuts with IMX989 sensor Sony, which has not been used in any other smartphone up to date. We know only one of its characteristics: its size is one inch.

Why is the inclusion of said sensor in Xiaomi 12S Ultra so important? Easy: This is significantly more than what we find in other high-end phones. As links:

  • Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra: 1/1.33 inches.
  • iPhone 13 Pro Max: 1/1.65 inches.
  • Xiaomi 11 Ultra: 1/1.12 inch.
  • Xiaomi 12S Ultra: 1 inch.

Sensor size obviously it’s just part of the equation. Artificial intelligence algorithms, stabilization technologies, image signal processor, characteristics of the lens mounted on the sensor… There are many parameters that determine the final image quality.

However, Xiaomi decides to include this sensor in the Xiaomi 12S Ultra. This is without a doubt a declaration of intent. If the rest of the pieces of the puzzle are also up to par, there is no doubt that the brand’s new stellar phone could be one of the benchmarks of the year in terms of mobile photography.

What will the Xiaomi 12S Ultra look like besides the sensor?

Chinese company did not reveal more details about the specifications of the Xiaomi 12S Ultra.. However, the phone is expected to come with a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip, 12GB of RAM, 512GB of internal storage, and a 4800mAh battery with fast charging support.

The aforementioned main camera is likely to be accompanied by other photosensors such as a telephoto lens that allows increase long range without quality loss or wide angle. The lenses in all cases will be developed by Leica, with which Xiaomi entered into a strategic cooperation agreement this year.

xiaomi 12s ultra will be officially presented on July 4 and all indications are that it will not be an exclusive product for the Chinese market, but that it will be sold in other Western countries as well.
