watchOS 11 offers the biggest leap in physical activity measurement in history

Training load on Apple Watch

The first major feature of watchOS 11 turned out to be one of the most anticipated: training load. Apple Watch now analyzes training load using data from the watch to give you insight into your workout and training load, while maintaining the privacy provided by the watch and seamlessly integrating it into the Fitness app.

Training Load helps users understand how much stress their bodies are under during workouts over the past seven days compared to the previous 28 days. The data provided by this new feature can help users make informed decisions about their daily workouts and tailor them to their personal situation.

Training load is calculated through an effort rating, which will be available after each workout on a scale of 1 to 10. although it will only be available during cardio workouts. They will use an algorithm to automatically generate effort estimates using a combination of data sources such as age, height and weight, as well as training data such as GPS, heart rate and altitude. However, train the way you like, the watch will not offer an automatic rating, but an effort rating can be entered manually at the end of each workout.

Plus, you can now add goals for each day of the week and even take days off from training without affecting our training streak. This advanced setting also carries over to the main fitness screen, which we can now change to our liking and place the most valuable data in different positions.

Additionally, Fitness+ has been redesigned in iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and tvOS 18 to include a customizable space called For youresearch locations and libraries, search functions and improved rewards.

New app for monitoring vital signs

watchOS 11 comes with the Vitals app, which allows you to centrally view all your important data: sleep, heart rate, activity – all in one place. Apple Watch analyzes these metrics so users can check their health every day and easily see when it’s outside the typical range. This way, when two or more metrics are out of scope, users can receive a notification along with a message with a detailed description. How changes in these specific indicators can be related to other aspects of your life, such as alcohol use… or even illness.

The Vitals app uses an algorithm developed by the Apple Heart and Movement Study, a study that aims to improve understanding of heart health and physical activity, and everything is done on the device itself, without sending that data to an external server.

Continuing the sports theme, a training application will offer even more exercise types that track distance during workoutsusing GPS positioning enhancements including soccer, soccer, Australian rules football, outdoor hockey, lacrosse, alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, snowboarding, golf, outdoor rowing and more, and personalized training is now available. swim in swiming pool.
