It’s June 21st Huawei held the HDC 2024 conference, where other companies took advantage of their most important announcement – the introduction of their new independent Android operating system: HarmonyOS Next.
Yu Chengdong, president of Huawei Consumer Business, noted that the company has been working on this version of HarmonyOS for five years.
Now, HarmonyOS NEXT represents a breakthrough in core operating system technology with improved flexibility, smart services and the ultimate user experience. It is independent of Android components such as Linux and uses proprietary parts such as the Big AI model, AK platform and other technologies.
The new software is based on OpenHarmony and uses a unified system architecture that combines cloud capabilities and delivers three core features: built-in intelligence, built-in security and a completely redesigned, innovative device experience.
HarmonyOS NEXT is primarily focused on making apps work seamlessly across multiple devices. Users will be able to freely share content or connect apps between devices without going through multiple installation steps or processes.
