Honor’s new invention is something you’ve never seen before: everyone will want it.

Honor is one of those lesser-known Android mobile brands with a catalog of very interesting smartphones. Proof of this is the Magic V5, which has established itself as one of the best foldable devices on the market, or its latest model, the Honor Magic 8, equipped with a telephoto lens with up to 200 megapixels. However, the company wanted to go even further and, during the presentation of its latest flagship, showed what its phone of the future will be like. Called Robot phoneand this is a mobile phone with an invention that will change the way we use the camera.

Honor’s new robot phone has already gone viral on TikTok and is likely to one of the most promising inventions of recent yearss by combining two products into one.

At first glance, it looks like a regular smartphone, which is slightly different in design from the rest of the brand’s phones and essentially resembles a mixture of a Xiaomi phone and the iPhone 17 Pro.

The most striking thing is the photo module, which occupies most of the rear part. And this is where the fun lies. One of the Honor robot phone lenses is actually a kind of gimbal with a built-in camera. Something like DJI’s Osmo Pocket. It is possible to activate a function that extracts this mechanism to, for example, take better quality selfies or even record content with better stabilization.

Honor’s robot phone camera takes on a life of its own

But the interesting things don’t end there: the camera or gimbal of the Honor robot phone lives a “life of its own.” That is, It is capable of moving on its own, automatically taking over its environment. Honor puts it this way: you can leave the device with the screen facing down, and if necessary, the gimbal will activate and the camera will start recording video.

In addition, and with the help of AIThe Honor robot phone’s camera can become a kind of pet, even allowing it to interact with users through movements similar to those made by a human head. It can even be used to entertain children or keep an eye on them. It is likely that for this Honor will use a virtual assistant that allows for voice interaction, as models such as Gemini or ChatGPT already offer.

Big question: How much does it cost and when can I buy it? Honor, unfortunately, did not provide such information, since the Robot Phone is just a prototype. However, the company has confirmed that we will learn more details during the Mobile World Congress in 2026, one of the largest technology conferences, which will be held in Barcelona.
