Replacing the 5.4-inch iPhone mini model, the iPhone 14 Plus has the 6.7-inch display of the iPhone 14 Pro Max and the “standard” iPhone 14 settings. However, the device did not win the public’s appreciation, contrary to what the brand expected.
Given the low sales of the iPhone 14 Plus, rumors suggest Apple will reconsider options for iPhone 15 variants. Supposedly, the brand has two possible strategies for subsequent releases.
The first plan would be to increase the difference between the “standard” and Pro models.. According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, in addition to screen and battery capacity, the company devices with more features than each other.
According to industry sources, The second option would be to lower the price of the iPhone Plus. it currently starts at $899 (or R$8,599 in Brazil). It could also mean a drop in the price of the standard iPhone.Starting at $799 (or R$7,599).
Regardless of the changes, Rumors don’t indicate iPhone mini is back. Therefore, consumers who want to have a compact Apple phone will need to get the old iPhone 13 mini or the latest iPhone SE 2022.
iPhone series changes
To adapt to the market, Apple has restructured its iPhone lineup several times over the past few years.. Initially, in 2014, the manufacturer released iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus with different screen sizes and the same internal configuration.
Recently, in 2022, the brand has invested in two standard models of corresponding sizes and two Pro versions: two devices with 6.1-inch screens and two devices with 6.7-inch screens.
By following Apple’s traditional calendar, The iPhone 15 debut is scheduled for September 2023. Until then, the next-gen device may reevaluate its strategy.
