And again, and in an unexpected turn of events, Google missed the breakthrough train. leaks @OnLeaks and SmartPrix have leaked what are rumored renders of the upcoming Pixel 8 Pro. pixel 7information about the next Pixel flagship was leaked a good six months before its official presentation.

Google’s terrible track record aside, let’s take a look at the leaked renders. Looks like the company’s design team is once again favoring rounded edges. The Pixel 7 duo is an improvement over the boxy look of its predecessor, and the Pixel 8 Pro only seems to add more of that rounded-corner profile. It really looks good, although a bit wider.

The overall design has remained more or less the same. Google is taking a two-tone approach with glass on both sides and a metal frame that also expands at the back to form a horizontal camera strip. Another change from the double notch design of the Pixel 7 Pro is that the Pixel 8 Pro only has an elongated pill-shaped outline that houses three camera sensors.

This triple-lens setup likely includes a high-res main camera, an ultra-wide-angle camera, and a periscope-style zoom telephoto lens. There’s another round notch right below the LED flash, but it’s not clear if that’s a macro or depth camera, or some sort of IR or dedicated light sensor.

Not much seems to have changed in terms of bezel thickness, and the selfie camera has also remained in the same spot as the Pixel 7 duo. However, the biggest improvement (or downgrade) is that the screen looks flat instead of curved sides. . what we saw on the Pixel 7 Pro.

The screen is reported to be 6.52 inches wide and will most likely be an OLED panel with a refresh rate of 90Hz or higher. The phone measures 162.6mm by 76.5mm by 8.7mm, but we don’t know much about the color options other than the ash-black bezel seen in the leaked renders.

The main upgrade for the phone will be the 3rd generation Tensor chip, which is reportedly manufactured using 3nm technology, bringing significant performance and power efficiency improvements. Let’s hope Google also looks into the thermal hardware inside the Pixel 8 Pro.

Now that the flagship Pro has taken the jailbreak world by storm, it’s also only a matter of time before a vanilla Pixel 8 arrives. As for the tentative release date, don’t expect these phones to hit store shelves until the fall season. Meanwhile, the Pixel 7a has been widely leaked and is expected to debut at Google’s I/O event in May, possibly along with the announcement of the long-awaited Pixel Fold.
