Google is reportedly working on a new Chromecast in the entry-level segment, with tech giant affiliate Googlechromecast.com unfamiliar to report. Medium reports this based on a request for approval from the US Federal Communications Commission. The gadget will differ only in streaming resolution from the current Google Chromecast with Google TV model.
As it is no longer accessible listing It is a Google Chromecast that can broadcast at resolutions up to 1080p with a 60 Hz refresh rate. Like the current 4K variant, the box is powered by Google TV and also comes with a remote control, according to the app.
This isn’t the first time information has surfaced about a Google Chromecast that is claimed to be cheaper with Google TV. So it seems pretty plausible for Google to have an entry-level streaming device in its pipeline. No word yet on a possible release date.
