AMD shared more information on its upcoming processors and graphics solutions during Financial Analyst Day. For example, the manufacturer shared new roadmaps for the coming years, covering both the consumer market and the professional segment. In this article, we’ll take a closer look at CPU announcements.

The first is the Ryzen 7000 series expected in the fall. AMD reaffirms that Raphael provides at least 15% better single-threaded performance compared to the Ryzen 5000, but it’s now clear that Zen 4 offers an IPC boost of 8% to 10%. Where clock speeds of at least 5 GHz were promised at the end of last month, a slide is now reporting at least 5.5 GHz. The combination of these factors means that the 16-seat top model should be at least 35% better than the Ryzen 9 5950X (multi-threaded), while this unannounced sku should provide a quarter more performance per watt.

The company also shared more details about its Zen 4-based laptop chips. For example, the notebook roadmap shows that Phoenix Point will not only be manufactured at 4nm, but will also be equipped with an integrated RDNA 3 GPU. Phoenix will be replaced by Strix Point in 2024, which combines Zen 5 cores with an RDNA 3+ igpu.

Then we come to Epyc server processors. In addition to the previously announced Genoa and Bergamo series, team red has developed two more Zen 4 product lines. Genoa is expected to have 96 cores by the end of this year, while Genoa-X will increase the amount of cache to 1GB of L3 cache per socket in 2023. The same year, Siena was also introduced, combining up to 64 Zen 4 cores with optimum efficiency and price. This platform is aimed at edge computing and telecom companies.

Finally, the manufacturer lifted a corner of the curtain on the completely redesigned Zen 5 architecture planned for 2024. Just like the Zen 4, models with V-cache or more c-core are expected in addition to the regular variants, although the Zen 5 uses 4 and 3 nanometers.
