He Signal U, BYD’s electric SUV that aims to compete with the Tesla Model Y, will be available in Spain very soon. This was confirmed by an Asian company which revealed prices and different configurations of this car, which will have a range of up to 500 km in the most powerful version and with a base price of 42,290 euros in the case of the most modest version.
BYD has confirmed that pre-sales will begin in the coming weeks, with deliveries beginning in the second quarter of 2024. In particular, Seal U will arrive in our country in two different configurations, the main difference of which is its autonomy. The company, on the one hand, will launch a version in Spain comfort with a 218 hp engine. and a battery with a capacity of 71.8 kWh, which will provide up to 420 km of autonomy. And, on the other hand, the option Design with 87.0 kWh battery and range up to 500 km. But the Seal U Comfort accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.3 seconds, and the Design version reaches 100 km in 9.6 seconds.
Both versions They also differ in equipment.. BYD’s Seal U Design adds dynamic welcome lighting, a 15.6-inch touchscreen entertainment system, a rain sensor, a color-changing ambient lighting system, a head-up display system, a wireless charging dock, and a sound system.
In terms of pricing, the Comfort model will be available for 42,290 eurosand the Design version will start with 45,790 euros. However, these are prices without promotions or application assistance. Taking into account that there are currently programs such as the MOVES III plan and that the company also offers a discount to help, the base model costs 34,080 euros and the version with a range of 500 km costs 37,580 euros.
BYD Seal U: an alternative to Tesla Model Y



In terms of design and performance, both versions of the Seal U are available with five seats and measure 4785mm long, 1668mm high and 2085mm wide including mirrors. Thus, its size is very similar to the Model Y.
BYD Seal U also comes with BYD Blade batteries, which incorporates lithium iron phosphate (LFP) instead of nickel and cobalt to extend its life. It also comes with an infotainment system available on a touchscreen and a motorized rotating LCD screen. 12.8 inches in the case of the base model, or 15.6 inches in the designer version.
