Facebook wants to formalize a factual situation: many people have more than one account on the social network, even if it would not be allowed under current site policies. So what to do? Facebook is considering officially giving this option to users.
Users could up to five Facebook profiles at oncesimilar to what is already possible through the Instagram app – which, however, is a little different, leaving no pages on the latter social network.
In the case of Facebook, the user can use the same credentials to log in to five different profiles. Explaining the reasons for this choice, the social explains that the move would have the advantage of increasing the time users spend on Facebook, at the expense of other competing platforms.
There is nothing definite yet. First, Facebook wants to evaluate the impact of the new feature through a series of tests. Some randomly selected users are given the ability to manage up to five pages at a time.
Facebook also added that users are free to using aliases and made-up names for their alternate accounts. This is also explicitly against the current rules of the social network. In short, it would be a revolution with deep meaning and capable of changing the Facebook economy.
