The largest international technology companies announce a new wave of layoffs in anticipation of a possible recession. TikTok is one of them: the Chinese company ByteDance announced a major staff reduction. It will cover the company’s global offices.

TikTok has already communicated their resignation to some employees. But this is just the beginning: many more, including employees and managers, will be staying home in the coming weeks.

Some of the layoffs concern Europe. According to a source reached by Wired, several European TikTok employees have already been informed of the impending dismissal. The bulk of the layoffs relate to the London office in the UK. THE staff cutbacks they concern almost all departments of the company.
