Anticyclone of the Azores: that’s it

To explain what an anticyclone is, one has to start with tropical cyclones such as hurricanes and typhoons. They are the most violent and have the characteristic of low pressure. The opposite phenomenon is the anticyclones which are high pressure areas that are in rotation and closed. Thus, both are vortices of atmosphere with different dynamics. The Azores anticyclone is associated with the archipelago of nine islands in the ocean Atlantic Ocean. The anticyclone is defined as a subtropical high pressure area in the North Atlantic Ocean, off the Portuguese volcanic islands. It is not fixed, but moves east or west depending on the seasons. In Europe it is known only as the Azores anticyclone, in America it is called the Bermuda anticyclone in summer and autumn. Right next to Bermuda there is even a high pressure area.

How do you recognize thehigh pressure? Here it occurs when the pressure of the atmosphere is greater than that of the surrounding air. The Azores anticyclone is therefore formed by associating with the atmospheric circulation and the different temperatures between the equator and the poles. Simply put, the high temperatures of the equatorial regions caused by solar radiation cause an increase in warm air due to its low density. This air rises in height and width.
