Microsoft has been determined to do away with the Control Panel of our Windows operating system for years, and since the release of Windows 10 in 2015, they have introduced the Settings app as its replacement, a replacement that hasn’t ended yet after such a long weather.

And for now, some settings and control panel tools have been moved, but do not completely replace the settings application control panel. And after the release of Windows 11, it seems that Microsoft is following the same strategy with the Control Panel and Settings app.

But now they want to step up because this week’s new Windows 11 preview moves another part of the Control Panel to the Settings app.

This expanded the capabilities of the Manage Applications section of the Settings app, providing features that weren’t there before.

So application management now supports offline applications, and in addition, you can now repair or modify Win32 programs using the settings app.

In the changelog, they note that this setting now supports managing applications that were previously only supported from the Control Panel.

This includes uninstalling standalone applications (such as Steam and gaming applications running on Steam), as well as restoring and modifying Win32 applications.

However, this change will not appear in the next feature update for Windows 11, but in a future version of Windows 11.

As for the control panel, it will be the main part of the Windows operating system for many years to come.
