Mark Zuckerberg announced that theintegration of NFTs inside Instagram will be expanded to 100 new countries. After the first encouraging tests in the United States, Meta has decided to step up and export the initiative to Africa, Asia, the Middle East and South America.

At the moment, Meta has no plans to bring NFTs to Europe and therefore to Italy.

Among other things, the CEO of Meta also announced that two new digital wallets will be supported in the near future: the Coinbase Wallet and the Dapper Wallet. Instagram also supports NFTs issued on the Flow network.

How the integration with NFTs works: Users can link a digital wallet to their account to keep their collection of Non-functioning token on their Instagram profile. Thanks to the integration with i walletusers can confirm that they are the legitimate owners of the tokens: each image contains a link to the collection page and that of the collector.

Instagram currently supports Rainbow, MetaMask and Trust Wallet wallets. Coinbase Wallet and Dapper Wallet are arriving in the coming days.

Instagram supports the blockchains of Ethereum, Current and Polygon. For now, NFTs issued on Solana’s network remain excluded, despite it being one of the liveliest ecosystems on the digital collectibles scene.

Instagram reiterated that the integration of NFTs on Instagram will not incur any costs or fees for the user.
