As China’s Tiangong Space Station Nears Completion, China Assembles the Rocket Long March 5B expected to launch in October 2022, with the module Mengtianwhich will contain equipment to allow experimentation on the microgravity.

This will be the third module to be launched in 18 months and will join the other two in orbit, Tianhethe module dedicated to experiments and the Wentian, a lab. Members of the Shenzhou-14 mission, led by Chen Dong, will welcome the module into orbit. Together with his crewmate, he used the Wentian module’s new airlock to complete the first extravehicular activity.

According to the statements, Tiangong could be expanded by 6 modules, but it depends on the other countries and their compliance with the project.

The Chinese are also planning a space telescopewhich is scheduled to launch in 2024, with a primary mirror with a diameter of 2 meters and a wider field of view than the telescope Hubble about 300 times.

China wants to keep the space station inhabited for the next 10 years, also opening it up to possible private partners, to conduct a series of experiments and gain the necessary flying experience.
