Starting tomorrow, Tuesday 25 October, Apple will start showing many more ads on his App Store. The ads, like the ones already displayed, are inherent to the nature of the service: Apple will present some applications sponsored by their respective developers.

The ads are placed in two of the main sections of the marketplacenamely the ‘Today’ tab – the first thing you see right after opening the app – and ‘Maybe also like’, a selection of applications chosen based on the user’s history and taste.

In the past, Apple had already placed some ads in the marketplace’s internal search engine bar. In short, from tomorrow the commercial break is displayed in four different areas of the store.

Advertising will play an increasingly important role in Apple’s business model, which according to Mark Gurman would even aim for $10 billion a year in commercials and ad content. In this regard, there was also talk this month about the possibility of ads being inserted within Apple TV+ as well. Apple is also expected to strive to introduce ads in Apple Maps and other proprietary applications, such as Safari.
