Apple’s tablets are now a monster of power, with very little to envy in MacBooks. The Next Generation iPad Pro presented just a few days ago are all equipped with the M2 chipsetthe same we find on the MacBook Pro and MacBook Air.

In the face of all this power, ipadOS it’s starting to get pretty tight. And this is where a really interesting leak comes into play: Apple is well aware of this, and to further narrow the distance between the iPad Pro and its laptops it would be ready to MacOS even on tablets.

According to a well-known tipster, Apple has already started internal testing of a version of MacOS optimized for the iPad Pro, but it is said to be a lighter version of the operating system it uses on its computers.

The next version of macOS will be called internal Mendocino and apparently Apple is also working on an OS version for the new iPad Pro with M2 chip. According to tipster Majin Buu, this version of macOS is exclusively for the iPad Pro 2022 – there is no mention of any possible compatibility with the older iPad Pro, which is equipped with the ‘old’ M1.

No mention is made of a possible compatibility with older iPad Pro, which is equipped with the ‘old’ M1.

The optimization work starts with the user interface, which is 25% larger to allow easy use of touch controls. Also, according to Majin Buu, applications for iPad Pro will still need to be downloaded from the App Store and not the Mac market.
