The project “Re-shoes” made by Shoea production company of shoes for the mountains and outdoor activities. A valid alternative solution of a circular nature e sustainable in front of to recycle the shoes that are now being discarded within the shoe industry. The project has 42 months to develop and market a new shoe model. A model made with the collection, selection and recycling of shoes that have reached the end of their life.
Scarpa will be active in Italy, Germany and Austria to collect 15,000 pairs of “Mojito” shoes from consumers. These shoes are then recycled and the new model is created. That’s how one has reduction of the greenhouse gases 52.4%, 50% instead of chemicals, 65% water and 54.5% energy. The recycled leather of the shoes is based on Evolo, a process that makes up to 20% of the industrial recycled material. An increase in the amount of 50% can be achieved. Particular attention will be paid to the management of waste from gum pre-consumer made when cutting shoe parts.
The value of the “Re-shoes” project is 2.6 million euros with the aim ofcircular economy energy sustainable in the period 2021-2027. The project is part of LIFE, a program through which the EU financing to protect and combat the environment climate change.
