According to some recent leaks published by DigiTimes, Apple he plans to put his own into production first headset for mixed reality (VR+AR) in the first quarter of next year. It goes without saying that the production start date also gives us an important clue about the product launch period.

DigiTimes has gathered key voices from the Asian supply chain, the network of suppliers and partners participating in the assembly of Apple products. According to his sources Pegatronan Asian partner of Apple, will start mass production of Apple’s headset in March 2023.

In theory, production is several months ahead of the actual launch of the product. It is likely that the former AR/VR viewer from Apple will be presented in June, on the occasion of Apple’s WWDC 2023, the annual event for developers (but occasionally used to showcase some niche products).

The headset will be produced in relatively small numbers for an Apple device. We’re talking about ordinary 700,000 pieces. To understand: Apple produces more than 130 million iPhones per year. This data also reflects the main theories that have been relaunched in recent months: the viewer will be an extremely niche product and aimed primarily at developers. It will therefore have an extremely high price.

Apple is also working on some lower-cost VR and AR products for the general public, but they won’t be unveiled for several years.
