TikTok, the popular social media platform owned by ByteDance, is testing a video length extension feature that will allow users to post footage up to a maximum length of 15 minutes.

This marks a significant increase over the current 10-minute limit and aims to diversify the content available on the platform.
Initially, TikTok started as a platform for short 15-second videos. Over time, the platform increased the clip length limit to 60 seconds and then to three minutes. In March 2022, the social network increased the maximum footage length to 10 minutes to unlock more creative possibilities for users, such as tutorials and recipes.
Now, take it one step further by testing the ability to upload 15-minute videos. This development was discovered by social media analyst and consultant Matt Navarra, who shared a screenshot of the feature via a post on Threads.

Navarra explained that users will be able to upload 15-minute videos directly from the TikTok app on their smartphones or from the desktop version of the social network. However, it is important to note that this is currently a testing feature and access is limited to a select group of users.
The popular platform is running tests to allow users to perform Google searches directly from its app. This new feature is based on an external link opened in a built-in browser.
Tests that are triggered when users enter keywords in the app’s search bar are currently ongoing.
Instead of showing internal results, TikTok offers a direct link to Google Search. Clicking this opens a browser within the app and displays search results provided by the Chrome search engine.
More importantly, TikTok includes a disclaimer that it is not responsible for the search results served by Google through this feature.
A spokesperson for the app confirmed to ‘Business Insider’ that they are running these tests globally and in various markets as part of their efforts to integrate third-party services into the platform. Among these is the Google search engine.
Integrating Google search from TikTok can provide users with a richer experience by allowing them to quickly search for information without having to leave the app.
