Times Higher Education (THE) firm has released its latest ranking of the best universities in Latin America. The list includes 197 institutions in 13 countries, compared to 177 institutions last year. Colombia has 29 classified universities, five more than last year.

It is one of the three most important measurements in the world; It is characterized by focusing mainly on academic aspects (teaching, research and academic reputation) and sets aside others related to positioning in the labor market.

This metric classifies Higher Education institutions with a global average of 100 possible scores. Likewise, it measures different aspects of quality such as scientific production and research, citations from articles, reputation among employers, abroad and among teachers.

So things are, once again, The top university in Colombia was the Universidad de Los Andes, which ranked 13th, followed by Universidad Nacional, number 17 in the region.

Both institutions perform very well in terms of their research, which is their biggest strength compared to other universities in the country.

Similarly, Colombian institutions are shown to have improved their overall reputation in the industry, which is one of their highlights, and their scholarly output and indexed texts still have much to improve.
