Among the announcements related to animation DC Comics that were made during the San Diego Comic Con one concerns the development of the film Justice League: Warworldscheduled for release in 2023. In this story, DC superheroes will face off against Mongul, the one in charge of the planet Warworld who already clashed with Superman in the comics.

the animated movie Justice Legue: Warworld will focus on characters and places that in some ways have not been released, while others are already featured in the DC Comics adaptations. Mongul has yet to appear in any live-action productions, while his consort Mongal has seen herself in a fleeting appearance in James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad.

As for Warlworld, the planet appeared in the TV series about Supergirl, while Mongul was featured in the cartoons in Justice League Unlimited. Justice League: Warworld will be the first animated feature of the Tomorrowverse, the new phase of DC Comics’ animated continuity.

The latest continuity was born after 2013’s Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox, which had led to the integration of some elements of The New 52.
