MTV entertainment studios, Main + and Comedy Central team up to give the green light to the project Everyone still hates Chrisa reboot animated series starring Chris Rock. The original series aired on The CW and chronicles the experience of growing up as a nerd in a working-class family, like Chris Rock himself.
Chris McCarthy of Paramount Media Networks & MTV Entertainment Studios said:
Chris Rock is one of the most gifted comedic actors ever, and we’re excited to be working with him to create an iconic new animation production, for programming that already includes South Park and the new Beavis and Butt-Head.
While CBS’s George Cheeks added:
The idea of reimagining this critically acclaimed series has been under discussion for some time. I can say that the idea of joining forces with 3 Arts and Chris Rock himself to expand the vision of the show is exciting.
Recall that Chris Rock has come back from a certain amount of uproar around his figure in recent months, given the events he was involved in after Will Smith’s blow to him on the night of the Oscars.
