From the beginning of time Mankind was looking for strange devices on which to run DOOM. In fact, shortly after the birth of ComputerHoy as a website, we already started telling you that you can play ID Software’s amazing game on the most unexpected platforms, like the ATM.
Gradually launching DOOM on all sorts of platforms became almost a meme, and we’ve seen it run on consoles like the PlayDate we recently analyzed, in a cryptocurrency wallet, with a 200-potato battery, or even while pregnant. test.
Now something even crazier is happening, as a genius named James Brown managed to DOOM runs on a single LEGO block. This is real genius, which you can see below:
I connected the brick as a very small external monitor so you can play Doom on it, for example. pic.twitter.com/uWK2Uw7Egr

That’s right: you won’t see three on a donkey, but it doesn’t matter, because the fun of it is not that it can be played in good conditions, but that “friends” can do DOOM. The hardware is very modest, the STM32F030F4P6 processor with 16K flash memory and 4K RAM and 0.42″ OLED screen.
It’s the right size for both the computer and the board and screen to match the 3D printed part, and as the developer explains on the Twitter thread, performance is still not optimal, but could be improved.
One of the reasons is that he had to downgrade a game that originally ran at 320 x 200 with 256 colors at monochrome screen with a resolution of 72 x 40 pixels. But, as I told you a few lines ago, what matters is not whether you can play well, but simply whether you can.
And yes, it looks like the LEGO brick should be added to the list of “devices” we can play DOOM on.
But joking aside, if after watching the news you want to play DOOM, I remind you that you can do it on any modern platform and, if you have Game Pass, also from the cloud on Android, PC, Mac or iOS.
You will let me, but as soon as I close this news, I’m going to take a short trip to the Hell of Mars to cleanse my demons..
