The universe continues to expand DC Comics upwards HBO Maxas the streaming platform has put into production a TV series dedicated to the character of Aqualad which will be produced by Charlize Theron

The TV series will be based on the graphic novel dedicated to Aqualad titled You brought me the ocean, created by Alex Sanchez and Jul Maroh. The story is about Jackson “Jake” Hyde, a gay teenager living in New Mexico. All his life, the young man has had a strange attraction to water, which is why he wants to leave the desert to be close to the ocean. And as he explores his skills as an extraordinary swimmer, he also falls in love with his classmate Kenny Liu.

The other producers on the project are AJ Dix, Beth Kono and Andrew Haas of Denver & Delilah Films. Among other DC properties, Warner Bros. Television will be responsible for the production of the project. The series will be a one-hour live-action drama.

The character Aqualad made his Adventure Comics debut in 1960, created by screenwriter Robert Bernstein and artist Ramona Fradon.
