Loretta Sage (Sandra Bullock), a successful lone novelist, has spent her career writing popular novels and adventure novels set in exotic locations.
The main character of his stories is the beautiful cover model Alan (Channing Tatum), who on the pages of these books embodies the hero “Dash”.
While on tour to promote her new book with Alan, Loretta is kidnapped by an eccentric billionaire (Daniel Radcliffe) who believes she can lead him to the treasure of the lost ancient city, so well described in his novel.
Driven by a desire to show everyone that he can be a hero even in real life, Alan sets out on a journey to save her.
Involved in an epic jungle adventure, the unlikely couple must get along to survive, but most importantly find the ancient treasure before it is lost forever.
