The RUVIKI website has been made available to readers in beta.
Now the Russian analogue of “Wikipedia” has about two million articles in Russian. The developers assure that users will be able to edit them soon.
“RUVIKI” is already the third analogue of “Wikipedia” in Russia. In August 2022, the former Russian editors announced the creation of the online encyclopedia Runiversalis. In December, the creation of the Knowledge portal designed to replace Wikipedia was announced by the Ministry of Digital Development.
The RUVIKI project was “secretly” created by employees of the non-profit partnership Wikimedia.Ru, which supports the Russian version, including its director Vladimir Medeiko. He left his job after the project was announced.
