Other workers who applied to enter the office said they were asked if they “ever danced for dollars” or had an affair, the publication said, adding that the questions were asked by third-party security firm Concentric Advisors. who is known for working with family offices, ”comments the WSJ.
A spokesperson for Concentric Advisors denied asking questions, saying the selection process considered whether potential hires were truthful or had a potential “vulnerability to blackmail”.

“Our recruitment process is conducted with the utmost respect for each candidate, with a zero-tolerance policy for any participant, including service providers, who violate this principle,” said a spokesman for Gates Ventures. “Furthermore, any hint of any connection between Bill Gates’ personal history and an independent background check process identical for men and women is outrageous.”
Concentric told the publication that its questions are designed to assess “truthfulness and vulnerability to blackmail,” which often begins with a candidate’s voluntary statements followed by questions from company interviewers. The company also told the publication that not all data collected from interviews is shared with the companies you work with or used to determine if a candidate is hired.
“In our more than 15 year history, we have never heard from any supplier or interviewee that inappropriate questions were asked during the selection process,” a Gates Venture spokesman told the magazine. “We can confirm that, after careful examination of our records, no job offer based on information of this nature has ever been rescinded.”
