Almost half of Russian motorists increasingly began to refuse to travel around the city in their own car due to the expensive price of gasoline. They choose car sharing as an alternative: it is cheaper and more comfortable for car owners, according to the survey.

42% of motorists have refused to travel in their own car due to the cost of gasoline

Motorists in Russia began to refuse more and more to use their own car and opted to share it to get around the city. Since the beginning of this year, the proportion of these types of drivers has reached 42%, according to a survey of the Fresh car market, the results of which were collected by Izvestia.

Nearly one in three carsharing users in 2023 were doing it for the first time, one in five used similar services before. The study authors attribute the trend to the convenience of car sharing services and the high cost of fuel.

In any case, only 10% of those surveyed continue to travel in their own car. On long trips or out of town, motorists still prefer their own car, according to the study.
