Analysts from the St. Petersburg Higher School of Economics surveyed 250 IT startups and learned about their priority markets and use of artificial intelligence technologies. RB.RU learned about the results of the study.

Russian startups have listed their priority development markets: research

For 89% of respondents, Russia is a priority development market, 44% of projects named Asian countries as target countries, the EU market (40%), Latin America equals the US in attractiveness. USA (33%).

St. Petersburg HSE experts explain the desire of startups to become leaders in the Russian market by the high development of the IT industry in the country, as well as the prospect of occupying the niche left vacant after the exit of foreign companies, rather than the difficulties associated with entering international markets.

65% of the projects develop analogues of foreign solutions. About 80% of import substitution products are developed for the fields of education and medicine.

According to the results of the study, 74.9% of the projects surveyed use various artificial intelligence technologies. Most are attracted to neural networks, the Internet of Things, machine learning and natural language processing.

The survey included projects that submitted applications to the all-Russian festival of university technology projects HSE FEST. Industries include AgroTech, BioTech, EduTech, GreenTech, RetailTech, MedTech and others. Applications for the festival are being accepted until October 15.
