At one of the stations MCD-3 Zelenograd – Kryukovo, infrared heaters have already been installed on the benches, which are activated when a person approaches.
This is a pilot project, but in the near future Russian Railways plans to expand the technology to platforms on the entire railway network.
Such warm benches will be a real salvation in the cold season and will provide passengers with additional comfort while waiting for the train. The innovation demonstrates Russian Railways’ desire to keep up with the times and its attention to the needs of passengers.
In addition, the company is actively developing other areas, including the introduction of double-decker bistro carriages on long-distance trains and experiments with biometric technologies to simplify the train boarding process.
