The selection of the settlements where base stations will be established is determined by the votes of the residents of the region. Vladimir Starkov added that at the end of the voting for 2024, it was decided to establish base stations in 38 places.
These settlements, where between 100 and 500 people live, are currently deprived of cellular communication and LTE mobile internet access. However, thanks to the installation of base stations, they will become a part of the modern digital world. Fast data transfer is achieved by connecting base stations to each other via optical lines.
This initiative will provide residents of the new communities with access to wireless networks and high-speed internet, expanding their video communications, telemedicine and online learning capabilities. Starkov noted that regional authorities are focusing on efforts to reduce the digital divide and provide all residents with the opportunity to use modern technologies.
