Reddit users reported that Google has started slowing down YouTube in browsers with ad blockers.

The first problems are revealed by Firefox users. In Firefox, YouTube opens 5 seconds slower than Chrome.

This is because Google has added special code via Javascript that slows down the page by 5 seconds. Javascript every time in every browser before running, so it can differentiate between Chrome and other browsers.

setTimeout(function() {
c();
a.resolve(1)
}, 5E3);

The proof is that if you change Chrome’s user agent in Firefox, YouTube will load quickly.

Some users have reported that they are facing the following issue in Edge, Brave and Chrome. In all cases, adblock was installed.

Users of the uBlock Origin extension have a ready-made filter that bypasses Google restrictions:

www.youtube.com##+js(nano-stb, resolve(1), *, 0.001)

Google itself has not commented on the problem. [Reddit]
