VK will redesign “Clips”: add the possibility of co-authoring and update the interface for users

The VK Clips platform has introduced new opportunities for content creators and viewers. The details of the innovation were reported in VK.

  • Content creators will have the opportunity to publish collaborative videos. The content will appear on both authors’ profiles.
  • Musicians will be able to create trailers for their tracks, launch challenges and playlists before the release of new songs.
  • The editor will now have the function of adding multiple audio tracks, text and stickers, in addition to configuring their duration and playback order. The text description limit for a clip will be increased to 4 thousand characters.
  • The interface for viewing videos for viewers and the design of the web version of the clip feed will be updated. Users will also be able to leave one-time donations to content authors within the platform.
  • They will add a “This is not interesting” button: it will hide the authors’ videos from the feed and configure a recommendation algorithm to show less content of this type.

All innovations will be launched gradually starting in early 2024.
