iPhone Tap and Pay is now available on the Nubank app. This function allows you to use your mobile phone as a card machine as long as the recipient has a legal entity (PJ) account. Information taken from: MacMagazine.
The feature was announced by Apple in September 2023, but only recently started rolling out to users. If available, the function appears as one of the billing options in corporate accounts.
At this first moment, Nubank’s Tap to Pay application accepts payments from debit and credit cards covered by Mastercard and Visa. Additionally, the amount paid must be over R$ 2 or a minimum installment of R$ 5.
Just like other contactless payments, Sales exceeding R$199.99 in value require the customer to enter their card pin. But, credentials are not stored on the iPhone.
According to Apple, the Tap to Pay feature is available for iPhone XS (or newer models) running the latest version of iOS. The first institution to receive the resource was CloudWalk.
Now that Nubank has adopted this feature, the next companies that should include Tap to Pay support should be SumUp, Granito, and Stone.
If the tool hasn’t appeared on your device yet, it’s worth checking the App Store for pending updates. It is worth noting that iOS must also be installed to the latest version.
