Greyhounds, small dogs with long noses, had an average lifespan of 13.3 years. And it turns out that such dogs live longer than other breeds. All findings of this study were published in the journal Scientific Reports.

In general, the life expectancy of female dogs was determined as 12.7 years, and that of male dogs was 12.4 years. The longest-living breeds were Whippets, Miniature Dachshunds, and Shetland Sheepdogs.

Medium-sized dogs with short noses also had the shortest life expectancy. This period is 9.1 years for men and 9.6 years for women. Among these were English bulldogs.

In addition, it turned out that purebred dogs live less than hybrids: 12 years versus 12.7 years.
